The events MAAM hosts are designed to be fun, to create an opportunity for students and others in the community to socialize and spend time with each other, and to raise funds for our scholarship program.

Kick-a-thon
Come join the fun and help raise funds for MAAM! We will attempt 1000 kicks - you’ll get in a great workout and have a great time doing it! This event will take place at the Martial Arts Center, Shops at Fallen Timbers dojo and is open to all students and friends.
Here’s how it works:
Grab a pledge form from the dojo. Next, contact all of your friends, family and neighbors and ask if they would like to sponsor you at the kick-a-thon. Your sponsor can donate in 2 ways:
Pledge per kick: Sponsors can pledge a certain amount of money per kick; or
Flat donation: Sponsors can also choose to give a one-time, flat-rate donation regardless of the number of kicks performed.
You can also win a cash prize! For the first $25 you raise, you will receive 3 tickets towards the grand prize drawing. For every additional $10 raised, you get an additional ticket. The more money you raise, the more chances you have to win the drawing.
First place is $100, second place is $50
Lightsaber Seminar
Channel the force and light up the dojo as we learn Japanese sword techniques with Jedi Lightsabers!
All who register will receive a lightsaber to keep!
Registration will be limited to 45 participants
Cost: $25 per person / $40 for 2 people / $50 for 3 people / $60 for 4 or more people
Recommended age for this seminar is 6 yrs and older
Race to the Monument
A great way to help MAAM, a local non-profit organization, and get a race in too!. We start on the bike path just outside Fallen Timbers Mall and run on bike trails and paved roads to the Battle of Fallen Timbers Monument and back.

Euchre Tournament
$25 per person
First Place: 10% of the Pot; Second Place: 5% of the Pot
Food, Snacks, water will be available, BYOB (adult beverages allowed)

Women's Self Defense Seminar
Join Sempai Shelly Blanco of the Ohio Martial Arts Center for a high-energy, hands-on, self defense training. Learn the most effective techniques and practice them in a safe, controlled setting. Build confidence while having fun!
